About Me

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”

~Mary Oliver, New and Selected Poems~

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of professional experience. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, elementary schools, non-profit counseling agencies, private homes and, since 1999, private practice in Sonoma, Marin and San Francisco.

I have extensive post graduate training in the field of psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. My training includes but is not limited to mind-body-spirit oriented therapy for people with trauma histories; Dr. Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing and Dr. Francine Shapiro’s EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as well as researched based Couples Therapy with Drs. John and Julie Gottman.

I have a depth of professional experience working in the realm of bereavement; human and pet loss.

A significant portion of my professional energy has been devoted to providing positive behavior consultation and counseling support to parents of children with developmental disabilities and varying degrees of special needs.

I bring to this work a deep spiritual understanding of the impact that impermanence has on human dynamics and relationships — and this understanding evokes warmth, compassion and humor in my therapeutic approach.

In my personal life I find joy singing in groups, practicing yoga and meditation, reading, dancing, hiking with my dog, photography, cooking, eating and spending quality time with family and friends.
